A Golden Livermore Maternity Session || Golden Hour Before Baby’s Arrival

Some couples radiate love and light so steadily that one is sure they will make amazing parents. Shelby and Kevin embody this beautifully.

Shelby was referred by one of my dear clients whose family I’ve photographed for multiple years in a row now. Both Shelby and Kat are nurses in the NICU department, and both have that tender, comforting presence that so many talented nurses do.

I was so excited to hear that this sweet couple was keeping the gender of their soon-to-arrive baby a surprise — a true surprise, both for others and for themselves! Now that I’ve had babies both ways (finding out the gender, and keeping it a surprise) in my humble opinion, I agree that this is the way to go! (At least it makes the baby’s arrival that much more exciting!)

From the moment I spoke with Shelby over our initial phone call, I could tell that I was going to really enjoy photographing Shelby and Kevin. Shelby has a way of communicating that is simultaneously sweet yet polished, and kind yet confident. The type of endearing personality that draws you in and makes you feel comfortable and at ease just by being in her presence.

Kevin is much the same. A loving, kind man who so evidently adores his wife and cherishes her in the most beautiful of ways. I knew he would make an amazing father. (And fast forward to today: now that I’ve seen him as a dad to his son Landon, he is most certainly living up to that expectation!)

Photographing these two sweet souls was such a joy, and I was so honored to recently have the privilege of photographing them again for a second maternity shoot (another surprise gender!!) with their precious boy Landon as part of the session. They absolutely are living up to the expectations I had of them as sweet kindhearted parents, and I can’t wait to see them continue to live that out once they have two precious babies. What a joy.

Ellie Meberg Photography specializes in joy-filled, connection-focused family portraits that capture each fleeting season of motherhood + parenthood.

The way your family looks this year is not how it will look forever. If you're anything like most of the mamas I know, you may be the one taking all your family's pictures – but not getting many really good ones with you in them. Or at least not ones you’d choose to frame and display throughout your home.

Let's fix that & work together to create some beautiful images for your family to cherish and display on your walls.

This short season will be over before you know it. Let's not let these precious moments slip by without capturing any images that you truly love with you and your little ones.🤍
