A Love-Filled San Jose Family Session || Alviso Adobe Salt Flats Family Portraits

Some families overflow with so much sincere love, it just radiates from them in the most beautiful way. This family truly embodies that.

When this kindhearted husband and father, Alex, first reached out to me inquiring about a family session, I was so touched hearing just how much of a priority his family is to him. I know sometimes it can be the dads who put up a bit of resistance to family portraits — though I know they are usually so grateful once it’s said & done. (My husband certainly falls into this category.) But whenever it’s the dads who first reach out to me, I find it so thoroughly touching and endearing. And I am genuinely so happy for those wives who have such strong, yet simultaneously tender + loving, men as their husbands. What a blessing beyond measure. This family is incredibly blessed to have a husband and father like that.

We chose the stunning Alviso Adobe Salt Flats for this San Jose Family Session, and this gem of a location did not disappoint. Tucked away in the South Bay, this unique spot is a true favorite of mine, though I didn’t even know such landscape existed in the Bay Area until a couple years ago. And on this particular chilly November evening, the air was crisp and breezy. But that didn’t stop us from having the most lovely evening together.

Their gorgeous mama, Caroline, chose the most perfect outfits for their session — her light-colored, flowy dress creating the most beautiful movement in their images and gallery, as she picked up her sweet little ones and cared for them in the most tender of ways. Caroline radiates such kindness and has a soft-spoken, lovely confidence to her that just naturally draws you in. The little interactions I witnessed with her caring for her family showed just how thoughtful and intentional she is & how fortunate her family is to have her!

Hugh (3) and Hadley (3 months) were just a delight to be around. Their bond and connection even at such a young age is truly so precious. Watching Hugh hold his baby sister and make his best efforts to tend to her little needs (such as wrapping the blanket around her to keep her warm on this chilly evening) was so pure & adorable.

As we enjoyed our time together and took in the breathtaking views of this awe-inspiring location, I was reminded just how precious and fleeting all of these moments truly are. It’s easy to take any given day with little ones for granted, and it can be hard to remember that these days will be over so much sooner than many of us want to realize. But the way this sweet family set aside the time, even when life feels full to the brim, to capture their love & connection — and to celebrate this precious, fleeting, beautiful season — it is such a testament to the true priority that family is to them. I had such a lovely time with this lovely family, and I hope they can cherish these images for many years to come.

The way your family looks this year is not how it will look forever. If you're anything like most of the mamas I know, you may be the one taking all your family's pictures – but not getting many really good ones with you in them. Or at least not ones you’d choose to frame and display throughout your home.

Let's fix that & work together to create some beautiful images for your family to cherish and display on your walls.

This short season will be over before you know it. Let's not let these precious moments slip by without capturing any images that you truly love with you and your little ones.🤍
