A Dreamy Engagement Session at Point Reyes Beach

I was so honored to have the privilege of taking this gorgeous couple's engagement photos at the stunning Point Reyes National Seashore. These two beautiful souls are so kind, thoughtful, and an absolute joy to be around. I met Joe & Anna at church — and their servant hearts are so beautiful, serving in the children’s ministry together each Sunday morning.

This was my first session at this breathtaking location, and I genuinely had such an amazing time exploring this breathtaking spot with them. We took these in the spring (in late March), and the green grass was such a gorgeous backdrop.

Spring sessions at Point Reyes National Seashore are pure perfection. This beautiful engagement session at Point Reyes Beach in late March was everything I dreamed it to be. The weather was gorgeous. We had warm sunshine, soft coastal light, and the most vibrant green hills surrounding the beach. The spring rains really bring the landscape to life, with stunning green grass and beautiful skies & clouds. Wild coastal textures pop everywhere, and honestly every direction you turn looks like a painting.

So I was SO excited to be able to do Joe and Anna’s engagement session at this perfect location that I had been wanting to explore for awhile!

Why Point Reyes Beach is Perfect for Engagement Photos

Many couples choose Point Reyes National Seashore for engagement photos because it offers so much variety. Within minutes you can capture coastal cliffs, wide sandy beaches, and rolling green hills. There is so much variation in the types of images we can capture here, and I am all about it!

Even though there are so many different options/places at Point Reyes National Seashore for different looks (such as lighthouse, trees, etc), for Joe and Anna’s session, we stayed near the beach area at Point Reyes National Seashore, and I am so glad we did. The open shoreline gave us gorgeous light and plenty of space to explore.

The whole session felt so soft, romantic, and timeless. And despite Joe + Anna claiming they had no idea what to do in front of a camera, from the start we just laughed together, ran through the grasses, and created stunning photos together! Truly there is no pressure on any couple to “know what to do in front of the camera” because I will keep it light and guide you every step of the way! I just gave them prompts or ideas for what to do next, and they nailed it every time. As a photographer, it’s my job to make you feel natural!

The Perfect Coastal Engagement Outfits

Joe and Anna absolutely nailed their outfits for this Point Reyes engagement session.

Anna wore a flowy white dress that moved beautifully in the coastal breeze. Flowy dresses are always a favorite for beach sessions (and honestly any session!) because they create soft movement and photograph beautifully. The light fabric caught the wind perfectly as we shot near the shoreline. Joe’s neutral-colored clothing complemented Anna’s outfit and the coastal landscape perfectly.

Together, their outfits created a timeless and elegant look that matched the relaxed coastal setting.
